I'm having some trouble making everything into a google doc. I blame being pregnant. :) Anyway, I'll get it figured out, but I wanted everyone to have the supply list and book list for next week, so I'll just copy and paste them here.
Supply list for April week 1 (seeds, Uu)
2-5 different kinds of seeds (big enough that your child can pick them up)
empty egg carton or some empty cups or bowls for sorting seeds into
dirt or soil
plastic cup
a few giant sunflower seeds for planting
(any flower seed will work, but bigger is best)
a few popcorn kernels
sandwich size ziplock bag for each child (it needs to zip, not tie)
black construction paper
glue
scissors
various construction paper for letter U umbrella craft
**optional: some seeds for eating (like sunflower seeds), pop sickle sticks
Book list for April week a (seeds, Uu)
Recommended for supplementing activities:
The Tiny Seed by Eric Carl
From Seed to Dandelion by Ellen Weiss
Other good seed book ideas:
From Seed to Plant by Gail Gibbons
From Seed to Dandelion by Jan Kottke
The Seed the Squirrel Dropped by Haris Petie
The Carrot Seed by Ruth Krauss
Stories for All Seasons by Eric Carl
**None of these books are really necessary to complete the lessons,
but try to find something on how seeds spread and how they grow.
